WWE Into the Real

It was Memorial Day, May 25, and WWE’s Monday Night RAW was supposed to be emanating from the Pepsi Center in Denver. Instead the show took place in the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers fourth game of the Western Conference Finals fell on the same night as the scheduled RAW and E. Stan Kroenke, the Pepsi Center owner, had a mess on his hands. He sided with the NBA and the Nuggets and said the WWE would not be having a show in the arena that night.

So this is the end of the world for WWE President Vince McMahon and RAW right? No not in the least. The double booking was a blessing actually. The WWE gained exposure on mainstream shows on major networks, especially ESPN. Popular shows like PTI and Around the Horn discussed the matter, and the debate was even of Sportscenter.
